Ballon d'Or 2026 Men's Club of the Year: Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain’s transformation under their current project has been one of the defining stories of European club football over the past two seasons. On Monday night at the London Palladium, that transformation received its clearest collective recognition: the Men’s Club of the Year award at the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

The Numbers Behind the Award

The depth of PSG’s representation in the men’s Ballon d’Or rankings tells the story more clearly than any summary could. Six PSG players finished in the men’s top 25 alone: Achraf Hakimi (13th), Vitinha (14th), Ferran Torres (16th), Joao Neves (19th), Willian Pacho (20th) and Nuno Mendes (23rd). Marquinhos, the club captain, finished 25th.

No other club in European football placed that many players across the rankings. Bayern Munich had Kane (winner) and Luis Diaz (24th). Arsenal had Rice (15th), Gabriel (21st) and Saliba (joint 29th). Barcelona had Cubarsi (12th) and Lamine Yamal in the top 10. PSG had everyone else.

What PSG Built

The Men’s Club of the Year award is not just a count of players in a rankings table. It reflects the voting of 100 journalists who covered the reference period and concluded that one club’s collective contribution to the game across that period was greater than any other.

PSG’s Champions League campaign was the platform. The French club competed across Europe at the highest level and produced performances that put their squad in the minds of voters in a way that domestic dominance alone cannot achieve. The club’s ability to develop and attract talent across multiple positions, from goalkeepers to forwards, gave them a squad depth reflected in the spread of their individual rankings.

Ferran Torres’ Champions League hat-trick on the opening night of the group stage against Slovan Bratislava was one of the single moments of the season that lodged in voters’ minds. Hakimi’s consistent ability to influence games from right back put him 13th in the world. Vitinha and Joao Neves provided the midfield quality that made the whole structure work.

What It Means for French Football

PSG have won the Men’s Club of the Year at the Ballon d’Or for the first time. The award adds collective weight to a project that has produced individual recognition before but never this kind of sweep. Multiple players across multiple positions, all in the top 30 of the world’s most recognised individual award, and the club prize sitting on top of it.

French football has had its reputation shaped by its national team’s successes for many years. PSG’s award suggests the club side is catching up with that reputation.
